The Kleinood vineyard (dutch for jewel or generally any precious little thing) definitely lives up to its name, measuring only 10 hectares. Winemaker Gerard de Villiers focuses on two wines: Firstly Viognier (which is habitually already sold out by the time it hits the market) and secondly Shiraz. Very traditional in the sense of a fabulous Côte-Rôtie it parades an abundance of red fruits, spices and black olives. No wonder it scores high in John Platter`s Guide to South African Wine every year.
